It is generally accepted that an auction proves the most effective means of realizing any asset as the market will establish a realistic value of any type of goods being auctioned. We
believe that in order to dispose of any property successfully and to best
advantage, the auctioneer must have a thorough and an in-depth knowledge
of the property being sold as many buyers and sellers rely to a great
extent on the auctioneer’s expertise and judgment for guidance and
advice. Many
sellers therefore select the auction as a forum for disposing of their
property in order to rationalize or restructure their business and turn
same into cash. Furthermore, auctions are generally the accepted method
required by the Master of the Supreme Court to dispose of assets in
deceased estates and cases of insolvency and liquidation. In the prevailing economic climate it is often necessary for properties and other assets to be disposed of as expeditiously and effectively as possible and it therefore comes as no surprise that property auctions have of late become increasingly popular. Knowledgeable buyers take cognizance of this and avail themselves of the opportunity of acquiring property. It is accepted that auctions in general generate a warm, friendly and very exciting atmosphere. One could, in fact, say that the regular customers have “auction fever” and are drawn to attend almost each and every auction sale in their particular field. In fact, regular buyers tend to establish close rapport and friendships not only with the auctioneer and his staff but with other buyers as well and this rapport serves to strengthen the happy atmosphere which can be engendered at an auction sale. |
